I help create a financial road map for a woman’s different goals in life. I educate clients on different options, enabling them to make smart decisions. The benefits of working with me are that a client becomes confident, experiences trust, feels empowered, feels freedom, feels in control; AND feels invested in, by me and my practice. I will always work in my clients’ best interest, will work for and with my clients, and will conduct all tasks with honesty, integrity and transparency. I like to consider myself a new breed of financial planner: forward-thinking, dynamic, social media-savvy, and the go-to consultant for established businesswomen ready to focus on their financial futures.
Meet Brittney Castro,CFP® A New Kind of Financial Planner
I specialize in comprehensive financial planning to help individuals and business owners take control of their financial future and provide a financial legacy for their families. I focus my practice on understanding the unique challenges women and their families face when it comes to planning for the future. Working one on one to determine short and long term goals, I apply my knowledge and expertise to develop retirement, investment, tax management, and estate planning strategies. As a financial planner, I empower clients with a solid actionable financial plan in striving to ensure they are confident making informed financial decisions.
My Early Years
Born and raised in Cerritos, California, I was instilled with a strong sense of giving back to the community by observing my father, a Los Angeles Police officer, and my stay at home mother, a philanthropist volunteering at various organizations. My financial training began in high school while working multiple jobs. I quickly learned that my money should work as hard for me as I was working for it and I started to invest on my own. Continuing my fascination with finance, I attended the University of California, Santa Barbara graduating with a Bachelors’ Degree in Business Economics and a minor in Sports Management.
My Start in the Industry
I began my career at Ameriprise Financial, renowned in the industry for their financial planning training. It was there I worked with a senior partner and excelled as a financial advisor, developing a keen ability to analyze and solve problems for clients and mastering intricate financial planning strategies. In 2010, I took the next step in my career by joining Perennial Financial Services and LPL Financial, where I continue to provide my clients with unbiased, independent financial advice and have access to a broad array of financial products and services.
In 2011, I received the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation from the CFP Board of Standards. The CFP® designation is a mark of distinction for the individuals who have met the education, examination, experience and ethics standards established by the Certified Financial Planners Board of Standards (CFP Board). Additionally, I hold my series 7 and 66 registrations, am an Investment Advisor Representative with LPL Financial, and have a California Insurance license. I also maintain my designations as a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor and Accredited Asset Management Specialist.
I am extremely involved in my community and am an active member of the National Association of Women Business Owners, Step Up Women’s Network and the Financial Planning Association. I have a passion for educating individuals on financial topics and love to speak at various groups and organizations in Los Angeles.
My life away from work
I have been with my boyfriend Brandon for the past 6 years. We are the true yin and yang relationship. He is an actor, I am a planner. I am a morning person, he is a night person. He likes to take his time on projects; I like to get things done quickly. We are both Taurus’s which presents some conflict in itself. However as much as we are different, we are very similar. He is my best friend, soul mate and my biggest supporter in life. He has helped me enjoy my life for today and so much of my creative ideas are implemented with his help and support. We love to go on hikes, eat at new restaurants around Los Angeles, analyze films and television, travel, workout and learn new cultures and meet new people. We have a dog named Arya who is a perfect dog for us; energetic, athletic, playful, loving, and a great cuddle buddy.
Brittney has her financial planning practice with Perennial Financial Services, an LPL Financial group.
