Social Media has helped me connect with others in ways I could not have imagined a few years ago. Twitter alone has allowed me to meet individuals across the nation who share my same passion for educating women on their finances.
Recently, I had the opportunity to speak with Caryn Effron creator and founder of GoGirl Finance, a website helping women gain confidence when dealing with money.
Caryn’s story is similar to many women leading the path to change the way financial advice is communicated to women and definitely similar to mine. She was frustrated at the lack of financial education and resources available to her as a woman, especially at a critical time in her life when she needed to make some serious decisions regarding her mother’s financial situation. Amazed and shocked there was nothing really tailored to female audiences, she started to do some homework of her own. She decided that if the resources did not exist, she would help create them and provide them to other women like her. She contacted a few close female friends who could help her launch her site and founded the GoGirl Finance website where she provides resources for other women who are seeking financial education and resources.
It was a pleasure speaking with Caryn and learning the best ways we can support one another is this movement moving forward. I very am excited about our opportunities to work together. As women, we need to make sure we support one another in our journey toward financial success and I hope GoGirl Finance becomes another resource to help educate and empower the relationship you have with money!
