Tell me about your business and how you help women?
I am a business lawyer for women entrepreneurs. My practice, Rachel Rodgers Law Office, is run entirely online making my services accessible and convenient for busy women business owners. My secure online law office was one of the first of its kind and has filled a void among entrepreneurs in need of savvy legal counsel without breaking the bank or compromising excellent customer service.
What tip can you give women regarding hiring a lawyer?
Build a relationship with a business lawyer. Having a trusted lawyer means that you can take advantage of opportunities to grow your business and can protect your revenue streams. A good business lawyer will stay on top of your company’s legal needs and keep you informed of each necessary step you need to take to maintain your company’s health. Working with an attorney does not have to cost a fortune. There are innovative lawyers using creative methods to provide accessible legal counsel for small businesses from monthly payment plans for a package of services to assisted DIY.
What does being a Financially Wise Woman mean to you?
It means being empowered to take care of yourself, take care of your family and make an impact on the world. One of the things I used to do was label myself as “bad with money.” Many women probably do this. We slap a label on ourselves and then begin to live up to that label. I started my practice to empower myself financially and the clients that I work with. My goal is to acquire wealth. Many women are afraid of wealth; we think its a bad thing. We say, oh, I just want to be “well off” or I just want to take care of my family. When the truth is that if we build wealth the world will be a better place because we don’t acquire money for the sole purpose of empowering ourselves but we are motivated to acquire wealth because it allows us to invest in our families and our communities.
What is one of your money values?
Giving. My husband and I have always been charitable, giving when we could barely survive ourselves. Its so important to me to take care of others. I pretty much give to anyone who asks. I hope to really scale up my giving over time and that is part of my motivation to acquire wealth
What is your spending vise?
Books. I buy so many books and then don’t have time to read them all. But I love reading. And I love new ideas and hearing other people’s stories. The risks and chances people take and how it turns out in the end, its so much fun., favorite brand of shoes, etc.)
What is a favorite money quote or affirmation?
“I expand in abundance, success and love everyday, as I inspire those around me to do the same.” That’s from The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks. Excellent book!
