Credit Score- what is your number?

How Healthy are your Finances? Part 1 of Series

Financial Report Card. Have you heard this term before? What comes to mind when you think of financial report card? I define your financial report card as the following-

The analysis and measurement of where you stand regarding a few key areas:

  • Your Net worth- Assets & Liabilities

  • Your Cash Flow- Income and expenses

  • Your Credit score

The purpose of establishing a financial report card is to (1) know where you stand financially and (2) know that you are moving in the right direction towards being a financially wise woman.  Statistics show that at some point in our lives, 90% of women in the U.S will be managing money on their own because they’ve been divorced or widowed of have never married.

It’s important to keep in mind that there is no such thing as a “pass or fail”—however, it’s best not to be in the dark regarding any of the above mentioned categories.

Financially Wise Women are women who want to become educated on their finances and take control of their financial present and future. One of the ways to improve your financial report card is to sit down and review these measurements. The second step is to get educated. You can follow sites such as DailyWorth and LearnVest

Lastly, you can work with a CFP® Professional who can help you build upon what you already have.
