What was the best piece of money advice you were taught growing up or learned during your lifetime?
Money is amoral. It’s not dirty or sleezy to earn and keep a lot of money. It’s easy to ascribe negative traits to money, especially when we don’t have it, but the bottom line is that our income is merely a reflection of the value we create. Additionally, as Financially Wise Women, we’re positioned to create an amazing impact on the world if we use our financial resource prudently.
What is one of your money values?
Values based spending. I believe that money is a tool that creates or disseminates energy according to how it’s used. As such, I believe in only investing in things that create value or return. I make it a point to cal myself to the mat if I fall into the trap of spending to fill a void or impress other people.
What is a favorite money quote or affirmation?
Your Network + Your Self-Worth = Net Worth. The people you surround yourself with and the things you believe about yourself have a lot to do with your financial growth or lack thereof. It’s important to keep people in your space who can lift you up and help you achieve your goals.
