Tell me about your business and how you help women?
SheBrand was born from my philanthropic work with underserved women and girls. I realized after 20+ years of branding and marketing experience and starting my own public relations firm, that I could use that same experience to specifically help women entrepreneurs. I downsized my agency of 12 years, and started SheBrand a little over three years ago.
I now help women entrepreneurs find their brand voice and step into their power as business owners. I like to say that I help women build their confidence, their brands and their bank accounts. We start with the brand foundation, create a Brand Handbook and then develop a marketing and social media strategy to create a powerful online presence and attract more ideal clients.
What tip can you give women regarding building a powerful brand?
Many women make the mistake of thinking that their brand is their logo, business card or website. Your brand is how you make people feel. It’s the words, images and feelings that come to mind when your prospective clients think about you or interact with you in some way. It’s what they feel when they see your website, read your blog, take your workshop or meet you at an event.
Start asking yourself, “How can I make a stronger, more effective emotional connection with my potential clients?” and you’ll be on your way to building a more awesome brand.
What is one of your money values?
One of my money values is freedom. That’s what having money means to me – that I have the freedom to do those things that are important to me – travel, spend time with friends and family, give to organizations that are making a difference.
What does being a Financially Wise Woman mean to you?
Being financially wise for me, means paying attention to my money. Watching how it’s flowing in an out of my life, in and out of my business. It also means delegating. I don’t enjoy bookkeeping, but I know it’s important for me to be a part of the process. So I work with a great bookkeeper and an amazing accountant – and I meet with both of them regularly so I know exactly where I stand in my business from a money standpoint
